Hannah Flynn is an Executive Assistant at Ascend at the Aspen Institute. In this role, she specifically supports the Founder and Executive Director, Anne Mosle. Prior to joining Ascend, Hannah served as a high school special education teacher in the West Garfield Park community of Chicago as a Teach for America corps member. In her time as an educator, she earned a Master’s degree, served as a point person for parent connection and was an inaugural member of her school’s Equity in Action task force.
Teaching in a close-knit, vibrant, high-need community fostered Hannah’s belief in uplifting families as an entire unit and embracing the two-generation (2Gen) approach. Serving as an educator during the COVID-19 pandemic, Hannah leveraged technology and relationship building to support young people and families who faced heightened racial, educational, and economic oppression.
Hannah graduated from the University of Virginia in 2019 with a degree in Government and Bioethics. She has a special interest in supporting justice-impacted families and reimagining the way our society defines justice.
