‘1 in 5’ Episode 14: Meet Yoslin Amaya Hernandez
Yoslin Hernandez is a mother to two boys, ages five and three. She is also a student at University Of Maryland majoring in Government and Politics.
After she had her first son, she knew she had to go to college and earn her degree to break her family’s cycle of poverty. During that time, she applied to become a Generation Hope scholar and has been part of their program for four years.
They have helped her exceed in school. She began to seek advocating opportunities with Generation Hope when she stepped foot on her college campus and jumped through hurdles to get to where she wanted to be.
Yoslin hopes her degree in politics will propel her to make a
change for student parents and for immigrants.
