WEBINAR: Mental Health in Third Spaces

November 19, 2019 | Webinars

For those who ask: “What do children’s museums and mental health have in common?”, we would answer, “more than you might think.”

For those of us lucky enough to have a children’s museum in our communities, we may be aware of the important role they play not only in educating children but also in meeting a variety of family and community needs.

In this webinar, we explored the potential of children’s museums and other “third spaces” to help meet the emotional and mental health needs of children and families. Mental health services can be hard to access for many families, especially in communities with fewer resources. Expanding access through children’s museums and other non-traditional partners is one way to help build the health and well-being of our communities.

Learn about efforts in Topeka, Kansas and southeast Washington, DC to expand mental health services for families through creative partnerships with communities and families.
