Webinar: Two-Generation Strategies for WIOA

September 14, 2015 | Webinars

Join Ascend and Network Partners in a discussion and webinar focused on 2Gen strategies for implementation of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The 2Gen Strategies for WIOA Implementation webinar will take place Monday, September 21, from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm ET. The conversation will explore local and state opportunities to employ a 2Gen lens to develop WIOA implementation strategies that support families across America.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 creates career pathways that prepare low-income and out-of-work individuals for living wage, family-sustaining jobs by offering states and local agencies a host of opportunities to think about job training and educational tools in a new way, including by building meaningful partnerships with local service providers, the business community, institutions of postsecondary education, and other government agencies that support low-income families. During this important webinar, Ascend will share a new policy product, “2Gen Strategies for WIOA Implementation,” which outlines 2Gen opportunities within WIOA as well as additional resources for programs looking to harness the potential of WIOA.

Presenters include:
Kevin Jordan, Senior Vice President, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC)
Kim Justice, Senior Budget Analyst, Washington State Budget & Policy Center
Rachel Pollock, Policy Analyst, Ascend at the Aspen Institute
